I am not the man who will be managing

campaign.

I am, however, the man to help you win.

My days of sign-holding and organizing coffees and putting in lawn signs are over, but if you think that alone is going to make you win, then you are wrong.

Having served 5 years on my home town Finance Committee, I know the inner workings of town government.  Having a wife and daughter and a son on the way (July 4), I know the strains on real people and do not simply look at issues in 2 dimensions.

My full-time career is no longer in politics, but I have spent 3 years working in the legislature (2003 Rep. Dan Webster; 1995-96 Sen. Cile Hicks), so I understand the workings of the building.  I spent 3 years working in a state agency managing budgets and understand the “state employee mentality”.  I have worked in a charter school, as a UPS supervisor, and now work for a $4 billion international consulting company.  These experiences provide me with the ability to work with and understand the issues of your constituency.

My areas of expertise are: planning, budgeting, issue development, message delivery, media and opposition research.

I have been involved in politics since before 1994, when I graduated from Boston College with a B.A. in Political Science.  I ran a losing (but educational) State Senate campaign in 1996, as a 24 year old novice.  I returned to non-local campaign management in 2002 to run Tim Cruz’s winning campaign for Plymouth County District Attorney.  I managed Scott Brown’s 2003 Special Election campaign victory for State Senate.  I also managed Tim Duncan’s losing campaign for State Senate in 2004 against Ways and Means Chairwoman Therese Murray.  I have managed and worked on dozens of local election campaigns from Selectman to Water Commissioner (in fact one of the most fun campaigns ever was when we beat the incumbent long-time Water Commissioner by running a sticker campaign on Election Day).

If you want no-nonsense advice, planning and a strategy for success, then contact me.  If you want someone to help ensure that your rookie campaign manager understands where the priorities need to be, then contact me.  If you are looking for a day to day campaign manager to organize stand-outs and drive around turning in your nomination papers, then you have the wrong person – but I wish you the best of luck.

Why Politics?

As the son of two Boston Public School teachers, I learned at an early age that public service is a noble calling.  I have seen, far too often, the noble who answer the call get defeated in elections by panderers and pompous self-promoters.  I believe that we need a steady flow of fresh nobility at every level of government and I believe I can help accomplish that goal.  By the way, my parents are no longer school teachers and now vote predominantly Republican.
